OpenBSD 7.9 official artwork

While browsing Youtube (as on does on PTO), I stumbled upon this video by Nir Lichtman presenting the
pledge(2)
syscall.

It seemed like an interesting concept I wanted to experiment with on my own and so I span up a fresh OpenBSD 7.9 VM and started writing some code.

This year I had the pleasure to be invited at leHACK 2025, one of (if not) the biggest hacking convention in France. The talks and hosts were amazing ! Special shoutout to Tuxlu, with whom I had the pleasure to discuss during the event.

On Saturday evening, a public wargame was hosted with PWN, Reverse, Web, Game Hacking and Cryptography challenges. Though I typically enjoy solving Forensics challenges, I here had to adapt and change categories.

This page contains my writeups for the challenges I solved for my team Hackpocalypse. While I mainly focused on Forensics, I also solved some challenges from other categories.

Overall, this was a very entertaining and high-quality event by HTB and I particularly loved the Fantasy / MMOesque vibe of it!

Enjoy!

Forensics 🫆

A new Hire

Difficulty: Very easy

Question: The Royal Archives of Eldoria have recovered a mysterious document—an old resume once belonging to Lord Malakar before his fall from grace. At first glance, it appears to be an ordinary record of his achievements as a noble knight, but hidden within the text are secrets that reveal his descent into darkness.
